The Disappearance (1977) from director Stuart Cooper (Overlord) is a film maudit ripe for rediscovery the tale of an ultra-cool hit man (Donald Sutherland) for an international assassination agency who must grapple with the disappearance of his beloved but wandering wife (Francine Racette) and with a new target who seems strangely connected to his vanished spouse. Featuring phenomenal performances by the likes of David Hemmings John Hurt Christopher Plummer and David Warner the film - available on this Twilight Time release both in a new cut and in director Cooper's original version - spotlights the work of cinematographer John Alcott (A Clockwork Orange The Shining) a Stanley Kubrick favorite.
