The Addams Family consists of Morticia and Gomez, the eccentric yet hopelessly in love couple; their lovable children Wednesday and Pugsley; the jovial Uncle Fester; the doting Grandma; and Lurch the butler, who has been shuffling around the Addams family mansion for generations.

Other beloved relatives include Cousin Itt, Grandma Frump (Morticia's mother), and Morticia's sister Ophelia. And, of course, we mustn't forget the ever-present Thing, the helpful disembodied hand, played by—now it can be revealed—Ted "Lurch" Cassidy.

Unforgettable moments include Gomez's reactions to Morticia's French; Lurch's famous "Did you ring?" when the family pulls the string to summon Lurch's services; Lurch's own harpsichord playing; and the family pet, Kitty Kat, a lovable old lion. The family car, an old Packard touring car, and so on.

The Addams Family has enjoyed enormous popularity for almost 90 years. Originally created as a cartoon, the stories of this terribly grotesque family have been adapted numerous times for television, film, and the stage.
