This set collects three sensational crime stories that span the classic noir era. Citadel of Crime (1941) – The boss of a moonshining racket hits a snag when the distrustful residents of Pine Flats refuse to cooperate. He gets help from ex-con Cal Fullerton (King Kong’s Robert Armstrong). Only Cal has plans of his own: to take control of the gang and the whole bootlegging business. Cry Danger (1951) – This noir favorite stars Dick Powell (Murder, My Sweet) as Rocky Mulloy, a bookie who has been framed, tried and sent to jail for a holdup and murder he didn’t commit. When he’s sprung from prison with the help of a phony alibi, his eyes focus on sweet revenge—and the $100,000 stolen payroll stashed five years ago. Terror at Midnight (1956) – A young police detective (Scott Brady, I Was a Shoplifter) investigates a major interstate hot car racket while his fiancée (Joan Vohs, Vice Squad) becomes a victim of circumstances. When Susan brings her car into a garage for repairs, she unwittingly becomes ensnared in the deadly racketeering scheme.
