Kiyoshi Kurosawa directs this Japanese thriller starring Hidetoshi Nishijima as a retired detective who takes on the case of a young serial killer.After leaving the force, Koichi (Nishijima) moves to the suburbs with his wife Yasuko (Yuko Takeuchi) to be closer to his new job as a criminology lecturer.As he tries to build a new life for himself, Koichi is convinced by a former colleague to reopen a six-year-old, unsolved case in which three members of the same family disappeared without a trace.With the family's daughter Saki (Haruna Kawaguchi) the only witness, Koichi's investigation leads him to become increasingly suspicious of his new neighbour Masayuki Nishino (Teruyuki Kagawa), who his wife has tried her best to befriend.
