Young wannabe gangster Antonio (Lino Capolicchio) shoots and kills a cop during a botched robbery attempt. During his getaway he unwisely steals a car that belongs to a member of the powerful Ragusa mob family, led by patriarch Dante (Lee J. Cobb, Coogan’s Bluff). Plus there are incriminating documents in the trunk that implicate government officials in a corruption scheme. To top it all off Antonio is being chased down by cranky police commissioner Jacovella (John Saxon, Joe Kidd), who is known for his aggressively violent investigation techniques. Antonio has the underworld, the government, and the cops against him. Only a left-wing newspaper reporter (Renzo Palmer) offers a sympathetic ear, but is that enough to save his life? A pulse-pounding thriller directed by poliziotteschi master Stelvio Massi (The. 44 Specialist, Magnum Cop).
