Marlon Brando (The Godfather) plays Paul, the middle-aged man who uses the apartment to escape from a traumatic death, while Maria Schneider (The Passenger) stars opposite as Jeanne, an exuberant Parisian woman who uses the fling to gain a feeling of independence from prior emotional commitments.
