The Blair Witch Project:
The three friends Heather (H. Donahue), Josh (J. Leonard) and Mike (M. Williams) set out to the woods of Burkittsville/Maryland to pursue a local legend: in the village there is the myth of the witch of Blair, who is said to have killed seven children. During their hike through the forest, the friends are initially laid out to joke, but the mood deteriorates increasingly. Scary sounds and strange occurrences feed on the nerves and more and more often they ask themselves whether there is not actually something about the stories.

The Blair Witch Project 2:
The group erects their camp near the foundations of the house that belonged to Rustin Parr, a hermit hanged for the murders of seven children. His crime carried the sign of the witch of Blair. In the morning after their first night, the campers wake up without reminding themselves of having even laid asleep. Her memory lacks the last five hours of the night. This is the prelude to a series of strange events in which legend and reality get entangled in a frightening way. The expedition participants no longer know what reality and what is imagination. They begin to doubt their minds more and more, observe each other full of distrust and slowly increase into a mass hysteria. And too late they discover that they were not alone when they left the forests...

Blair Witch Project (2016):
Many legends still surround the disappearance of the three film students in the Black Hills Forest many years ago, which is why James (J. A. McCune), the brother of the then disappeared Heather (H. Donahue), is committed to getting to the bottom of the rumors. With a few friends and armed with cameras, he makes his way into the wilderness to trace the disappearance in the few tracks of his sister. Initially still euphoric, but at the latest at nightfall, panic gradually spreads among the young people when an eerie presence begins to approach the campsite. And as it soon turns out, the truth surrounding the circulating rumors surrounding the witch of Blair, is all too true...
