In the 15th century, the Transylvanian Prince Vlad II, Count of Dracul, turns away from the church in full of anger after the cruel loss of his worshiped wife Elisabeta. In his irrepressible grief, he kills a priest, cursed God - and is condemned to eternal life. He becomes Dracula. As a blood-drinking vampire, he must now err through the centuries. Dracula is obsessed with the sinister hope of eventually being reunited with his great love. 400 years later, he seems to have found her in Paris, in the form of the seductive Mina.
