A mysterious distress signal is sent from the mist-filled planet Aura. Captain Mark Markary (Barry Sullivan) from the spaceship Argos tries to get to the bottom of the call. When the ship gets too close to the alien planet, it is violently pulled to the ground. The crew discovers a seemingly abandoned ship and a huge skeleton in front of its entrance. A scary creature from an alien world awaits the crew and it is up to no good. Mario Bava's hypnotically captivating science fiction horror brings the horror of his gothic horror works into the 26th century. With a lot of artificial fog, clever camera work and a terrific cast around western star Barry Sullivan (40 GUNS), Bava created the blueprint for alien horror that would shape cinema for decades to come.
